Ol’ man Shea Weber plays 26 games and out for the season with foot surgery; you think the Preds got the better part of that trade for P.K.? The Price was Not Right this year in goal (8 year contract starts next season?). Max Pat can’t find the net, Drouin for Sergachev trade, Galchenyuk can’t win a faceoff or play defense. So a-hole GM Marc Bergevin trades a defenseman that can’t even crack the pitiful Habs lineup? Clean house up in Montreal! Molson sucks as an owner just like Dolan in NY.

Play along here: Grabner to devils is a rental, keeps him in the metro area, gets him some playoff experience and we sign him back next season for twice what we would have paid to keep him but get a 2nd rounder.

Ed, Granted its a stretch but at the end of this season Grabs is still an unrestricted free agent and will be free to go anywhere. Depends on wether we have more cap space than the devs. They cant keep him if they cant afford him and they have to match any offer he gets from any team or lose him

I went to the game last night primarily to watch Jean Ratelle's Jersey being retired... Great Ceremony!! Then the game... not so great!! So many missed opportunities to score in 1st period but failed on every attempt and Hank had no magic up his sleaves.....

Fans have lost their confidence too... it was hard for anyone to get a "LET'S GO RANGERS" chant going... very sad to see :(

And after 2 periods the escalators were packed with people leaving the garden :rolleyes:

We get Center Vladistav Namestnikov 25 yrs old 44 pts in 65 games for JT 24 yrs old and 40 pts so kind of a wash except we get a true 2nd to 3rd line center.
Mac D gets us 19 yr old Brett Howden 82 pts in 48 WHL games and a 20 year old left handed D with good speed and 25 pts in 33 WHL games . a 1st rounder in 2018 and a conditional pick in 2019 which could be a 1st rounder if TB wins cup this year or next

id say ya made out ok at the deadline. nemesnikov will get playing time in ny and he is fast . not the biggest guy but this is the new nhl. ya got a bunch of pics to use or trade. personally id like to see ya build down the middle in the center position but that's me . some of my ranger buddies say go after Tavares but im not big into that move. I agree somewhat with the coaching issues but id rather see lindy ruff run the powerplay not the dee . this "retooling" may not take years to pay off. ya have some good pieces in place . question is by the time this come to fruition how old will lundquist be . I like skjei on defense . I like the retool mindset. not a complete rebuild .

Last night's game against TB was tough to watch... geeez... right from start, TB SOG 17-0 .... it was like a shooting gallery... absolutely no D to help Hank at all get blasted from all over.... like a pond hockey team playing against the pros. :(
You could see how disgusted Hank was he had to skate over to the bench and complain he was getting ZERO support out there...

We have some good players but bad coaching...

Riz was “on target” before the season about Montreal. Last night shut out by Montreal native Roberto Luongo 5-0 (their 10th shut out loss this season). Worst road record in the league. An aging and injured Carey Price and Shea Weber, both tied up to contracts for 8 more years...Radulov and PK playing great for other teams.

I’m out on Anaheim on business but the Ducks are away this week. Thinking about catching an LA Kings game over the weekend.

Kind of gave up after watching first 2 periods last night but kept watching hoping Crosby couldn't smirk, after shutting us out.... and to my surprise there must have been an intervention in the locker room cause the Rangers came out in the 3rd with energy and I think we found the future of our goaltending... Georgiev was fantastic! OT was wild and Crosby skated off with NO SMIRK!!! :)

With a new coach next year we will be back!!

Another ugly loss in Toronto last night by the AHL Habs, shut out for a team record 11th time this season. Worst road record in NHL with only 9 wins, worst penalty kill, worst offense...should I go on? Yet owner Geoff Molson still believes in a-hole GM MB should keep his job.

Back up goalie Charlie Lindgren say more rubber last night than those working at the Goodyear plant, outshot 26-9 in the 2nd period. Is it time for baseball yet?

They've been on fire and really fun to watch... this bunch of guys playing now don't give up and have made these games exciting... It seems like Spooner & Namestnikov have caught Rangeritus already... Spooner started off on fire but last 4 games has been non-existent.... Namestnikov hasn't got going yet... if those 2 were hot, these close losses could've been wins :confused:

Still, no excuses for not changing coaches next season and REALLY starting fresh!! ;)

On a side note: times have really changed with no major fights breaking out in a Rangers/Flyers game

Another fun night watching the "New" Rangers play with lot's of energy, scoring and just having fun out there and putting up a solid win... yeah, it was against Buffalo, but back at the Outdoor Classic, we were able to "just beat" them with all our now departed Top Guys... and Georgiev had another fantastic night in goal... and definitely fits in perfectly with the "Retooling" taking place... the guys are certainly looking a lot happier out there then they did this whole season! :D

If we could erase the 1st period last night where we put our 2 new kids into the lineup and needed to get acclimated to new linemates, I think the Rangers could've beat the Mighty Caps... Georgiev got off to a bad start, no worse then Lundqvist has had many a game this year, but he certainly is in our future, I hope.

A new coach and a couple new sharpshooters next year and we will look good!! :)

Hard to know how it will work out, but if he is coming here 100% motivated to play in NY and able to SCORE GOALS, we certainly will welcome him.... I pray he doesn't get Rangeritus like the majority of deals turned out over the years...

It was time for the worst GM in the NHL to address the media in Montreal yesterday. Like AV (former Habs/Rangers coach), all he did was talk about “attitude” and how the Canadiens have to improve with players that have the “right attitude “. Never admitted his shortcomings.

In case anyone missed these:
1. Trade away P.K. for an aging Shea Weber and his 10 contract
2. Let Radulov and Markov walk away
3. Trade away Segechev for Drouin, a French Canadien winger playing center who can’t win a face off to save his life
4. Sign slow-footed Alzner to a five year deal
5. Sign an aging Carey Price to an 8 yr extension
6. Not utilize $8.5 mil in cap space saying there were no players available
7. Keeping Galchenyuk a true center playing wing on 4th line
8. Keeping JJ Daignault and Kirk Muller as special teams coaches. Worst penalty kill in the NHL.
9. Not addressing the need for scoring/offense.

Habs shut out 12 times in 2017-18 season, and scored only one goal in 16 other games. That’s 28 games the goaltending has to be perfect. Should I go on? At least Blueshirts management cleaned house for their fans!

Warm Saturday afternoon = windows open. Bruins game at 3 + windows open = a very annoyed bunch of neighbors!! Young couple pushing a stroller out front moved past my house at a much faster pace than anyone elses!!!

Actually enjoyed watching the game because I expected a loss. Sounds weird I know, but coming off a 7 game series and Tuukka looking like $hit I thought they were behind the 8 ball in game one. Nice win and home ice back in their favor. like it!

Not that Duff’s Bruins have been eliminated in five games, not having scored an even-strength goal in the last three games, one might say that the B’s took a “licking” by the Lightning. Marchand is an ugly but very talented hockey player. However, his antics do not belong in professional sports.

Felt good to see the Rangers South gang do really well and get to celebrate after getting screwed all season long by our pathetic coaching staff who should've been fired back in November..... and the Ranger rebuild still won't be 100% until they shove President For Life Sather out the door TOO!!! ;)

The only constant I saw was Nash STILL SUCKS at playoff time and needs a 50% reduction in pay for anyone to take him now :D

Love the games. Great hockey and fun to watch.

I spend so much time watching my son play during the year, I generally don't tune in until the playoffs. Has been a great playoff run for both teams.

I think MAF is a HOF'er but it is a great debate. Compiles stats over time, but has 3 cups and possibly a fourth this year and is only 33. Could get to top 5 in wins by he time he is done. Not sure how much winning the Cup influences voters and he doesn't have the individual awards. Is Lundqvist a lock?? Great stats, no cups. Cujo?? Tim Thomas??

Not the ending I was hoping for but the whole playoff season was really some great hockey ....certainly enjoyed the last couple months... after struggling through one awful season for the Rangers, it was a pleasure getting back to level of hockey we love the sport for.....
