Nj ice report update

Been out on the hardwater past few weeks putting in some time with the crazy weather we been having this year.Started the season off right where we end up first ice evrey year......the normal plenty of pinner pike in the 22-28 inch range with an occasional 32"......my best out there and first fish this year a 34-35". That was delaware river spot yesterday we tried for eyes some spots were 8 inches some spots were 2 1/2 within a couple feet from each other, we had a pretty deadly fault line too so we bailed early as we watched the ice dissapear....

couple questions- is it a given that any water legally fishable is also legally ice fishable? (reason I ask is one of my local lakes has very limited public access and ice access would allow me to fish the whole lake). is there a link to ice thickness reports on the big lakes? let me know, thanks!

unfortunately no, and lots of places don't allow ice fishing "for safety reasons" or whatever BS. most state waters you can ice fish, but county and local owned waters are up to who owns them.
