BD... I went down the roster and don't see who else they can afford as trade material... I'm looking at age, salary and who we need to protect in the expansion draft. We've been trading away all our draft picks the last few years but we still have some good kids coming up in the minors, which I'm hoping they don't trade away....

I know time is ticking away for this core group to make a run for the cup, and Staal/Girardi are still good defensemen but I don't see who else they want to trade right now. If Nash would go on a goal scoring streak and earn his $97,000 per game, we wouldn't have to make any trades, but it's just not happening :( We have one week to find out if they will make any moves :rolleyes:

you make good sense split,i'm just old school with the "if it is not broke,don't fix it it" with the defense part.i am not saying we have the best defense or that we don't need some work in that dept but i just think its easier to add forwards to the line up then defense men.

OH... I forgot to put Brandon Pirri on the trade list... I thought he was going to be the answer to the goal scoring whoa's this year... started off great then went game after game and couldn't sink the puck at all.. must have got the Big Apple Curse (too many distractions) ..

If each forward could just up their scoring touch a little bit, we wouldn't even think trade right now :D There's still time, so I'm hoping!! :)

All good points except we still need a QB defenseman on the PP to replace Yandle. Someone with a big shot that actually hits the net consistently. A lot of talk about some top candidates but trades usually include Lindberg, Veesey, Buchnevich and JT Miller , Raanta and /or a combination which would be nuts.

Stall and Girardi both have big cap hits and no move clauses to both teams involved so probably would be very hard to trade either one. So does Nash but he may be more open to going somewhere. However had we not lost in the first round last year I think Nash would have had a great playoffs.

Gorton has done well so time will tell what they come up with but I would expect a move

Also why was NASH not in the shootout lineup? 2 breakaways during the game and learned how to beat Price on the second one. Just sayin.

Really great game to watch. Austin Matthews I believe has a faster more accurate wrist shot than Ove. Hank robbed him in the third and then he beat Hank in the shootout on the same shot. Sitting one inch from a 58" TV screen I couldn't see the puck even in slow motion.

Rangers were strong throughout and solid 2 pts. Devils and Bluejackets weekend :)

Going to the Devils-Canadiens game Monday night.

These days, I'm happy just to have Montreal score a goal! Hope GM Bergevin shakes up the team and gets us a center who can put the puck in the net.

Well... what can I say with a Piss Poor showing against Columbus... when your D is totally out of whack, you better stop with the fancy passing and shoot the pucks ON GOAL!!! My god.. these guys can pin point their shots in practice, no problem, but when it counts, the shots are wide, high, flubbed or right into goalies glove. :rolleyes: And they're lucky the score wasn't more like 8 or 9 to 2, because Columbus missed some Grade A opportunities to put the puck into the net a few more times!! Better get their act together cause a tough week is coming up!! :(

kinda bummed about both games this weekend.we had the devils from the drop of the puck.the first period was all our and half the second.all of the sudden
its nj skating all over us,they had us stepping and fetching.i am glad we won but we played catch-up hockey and not strong played hockey.last night was just

After two lackluster periods of hockey, the Habs woke up coming back from 2-0 and 3-1 deficits on the road. As usual, Max the Man (2G) and Radulov (1G, 3A) come to the rescue as we beat the Devils 4-3 in OT!

Back-to-back wins for the first time since early January. Meanwhile, Brian Boyle gets traded to the Leafs--Habs need to add scoring and size. D Greg Pateryn swap for Jamie Benn's older bro won't help this offense.

BAD BAD BAD :mad:... Rangers getting worse not better... couldn't even finish watching 3rd period last night.... we have till 3pm to trade Asst coaches Arniel and Beuk today... AV keeps saying he likes what he's seeing in "PARTS" of the game!! ... yeah, but we're losing in the "OTHER PARTS" of the game... other teams picking up their games and we're sliding down the pole!!

Arniel the "architect" of our horrific PP the last few years and still can't get it to work and his offensive strategy doesn't work more then it works... Our top scorer Miller is #36 in league in pts, Zuc, who we are depending on is #55 in the league... we're not going far with that kind of scoring..... and Defense just looks so out of whack out there with 3/4 of the season over already.... Bring back Mike Sullivan and Ulf Samuelson as Asst coaches!!!! :(

These guys just ain't cutting it... It's a broke system for the whole team to be this under performing at this point in the season.... and if we get into the playoffs, we're not going far, that's for sure..:rolleyes:

Love the bigger lineup with Ott, Benn Martinsin and King, winning face offs too.

You are so right Tombanjo.... we gave away all our toughness for finesse, but now that our finesse can't perform for some reason :rolleyes:, we have NOONE to bang and slow down other teams.... we hardly do any checking... and the other coaches have all figured out AV's strategy and shut us down and then we get the same long faces in the post game interviews.. There's no drive/motivation on the ice lately and I put that blame all on the HEAD COACH!!! Other teams made the move and most have all turned their teams around..... and think it's time for the Rangers to do something!!

Pirri has been a total flop for sure!! Shoots from exact same spot every time and MISSES the net EVERYTIME!! Pathetic!! :mad:

Glad to see Raanta takeover as #1 goalie for a few weeks, and played great last night.... I think McDonagh has had enough already waiting for some offense and decided to start scoring himself!! :D We certainly need our defense putting goals in. I think if MacDonagh didn't have the C on his sweater, and carry the weight of an underachieving team on his shoulders, he would be the shining star of the whole team.... you can feel his suffering after every loss.

Great watching Devils last night come out of their 10 game losing streak and BEATING The Flyers, who I hate!! Yayyyyyyyy!!

All the top Rangers need to come out of their scoring slump real fast if they think they're getting past 1st round... with only 1 tough guy (Glass), they need the rest of these guys to score, because if it becomes a banging game, they all get injured!

Saturday night was hockey night for me.... went back and forth watching the Devils & Islanders lose waiting for the Ranger game... Blueshirts should have to stay in a hotel when in NYC and pretend they're playing away games!! :D LA took instant control but Rangers held them off and Raanta made some GREAT saves the whole game to get another shut out..Was nice to hear Stepan and SCORE in the same sentence for a change :) And as much as everyone complains about Girardi, he came back and played a good D-game..

I have called AV out numerous times this year. Playing with Lines this late in the season and ruining our young could be's by benching, scratching and demoting them.

Grabner has turned into Carl Hagelin by not finishing anymore on multiple breakaways. Maybe we should loan him to the Pens for a few games, helped Hags.

Habs would definitely have home ice due to being a division winner . Points don't matter between Rangers and Habs.
It goes metro div 1, 2 and 3, then Atlantic division 1,2 and 3 and then the 2 wildcards can be from either or the same division based on points.

Current standings would mean this:
Div 1 Leader with most points in this case Caps plays the 2nd wildcard or 8th seed right now Duffs Bruids

Other Div leader with less points in this case the Habs play the 1st wildcard in this case the Rangers.

Metropolitan Division #2 gets home ice and plays metro div # 3. In this case its a Columbus vs Pitts matchup

Atlantic Division #2 gets home ice and plays Atlantic div # 3. In this case Ottawa vs Toronto

Any points tiebreakers are Regular Season wins, then head to head

Personally I think it was more fair the old way. Top 8 in conference seeded by points.
Rangers are seeded 7th and have 10 more points than Altantic Div 2 and 3

Habs win their 13th game beyond regulation and have NHL best 13-3-1 record over the last month. Getting rid of MT and replacing him with Claude was just what the doctor ordered. Top line of Max Pat and Radulov (need to re-sign him long term) centered by Philip Danault (another terrific signing by MB) really clicking now. Alex Galchenyuk is available this summer, after five seasons just not getting it done, even on the second line.

More importantly 2 POINTS. Bring on the Blueshirts!

Rangers lose 3-1 but Blueshirts had six regulars out of the lineup. Last night, I watched Habs lose at home 4-2 to the desperate Lightning with Emelin, Benn and Weber all out on defense. Would have liked them to eliminate Tampa Bay from the playoffs. At least I get to see Leaf fans squirm today/tomorrow.

Habs close the Joe tonight vs Red Wings with Price, Max Pat, Markov and Radulov staying in Montreal. Weber and Benn back for playoffs; Emelin to be reevaluated next week. Bring on the Rangers!

I have one word to describe yesterdays loss to Ott... "SAD" Without the 7 scratches, the rest of the tribe were horrible to watch.... missed opportunities to bury the puck, total absence of defense, Hank trying but he's just not like he was 5 yrs ago bailing out the team. To think this was the 81st game of the season and they still can't coordinate as a solid team is really Sad!! Not to mention names but I'm not going to miss some of these guys packing their bags for good after season ends... Too many underachievers who have lost their way!! :rolleyes:

What a signing by GM Marc Bergevin at the start of the year...this guy is the MVP of the 2016-17 Habs, and deserves a long-term deal after the season.
5 points in the series so far, beat Mika to win Game 2 and intercepted Klein's pass and scores with Hayes draped all over him in Game 3.

Habs defense, special teams, and transition offense was excellent last night.

He should have been called for a elbowing minor to Riley Nash--instead Nash gets the retaliatory minor--and Ryan should have got a matching minor for embellishment. Tough loss to swallow last night with the 5 star performance given by Lundqvist. What has happened to Grabner's scoring ability the whole second half of the this season is beyond me.... he's back to what got him traded to Rangers on the cheap in the first place.... guess we were lucky he was on scoring streak 1st half of season :rolleyes: Don't have any clue what's happening with Hayes and Miller in these playoffs... total no-shows so far :( And what the heck happened to the physical play they brought against Montreal?? Reduce Buchnevich and Lindberg to just over 5 minutes TOI
Play Stall and Holden close to 30 minutes while Skeij and Smith play only 20 in regulation.
Result tired veterans give up a 2 goal lead

3 Minutes for Brady in 2 OT's while having a 2 goal game
0 Minutes for Vesey in OT

I agree with AV being the big problem because a good coach will know how to get the best out of his players, which clearly he isn't!!

I also have had a major problem with Assoc coach Scott Arniel for the last 2 years since they always say he orchestrates the PP, which has basically been a FAILURE the last couple years!! A decent PP would have been a big difference from losing to winning in a lot of games, yet he still can't get anything to work out there :(

OK.. let's start thinking positive tonight and START WINNING!! Tonight's game is huge for the Rangers to WIN!!

Should've been like that all 3 games and we would be locking up the series tomorrow night.... glad they figured it out and need to keep up the energy and execution... Loved seeing Pens holding on last night and beating Caps... up now 3-1... don't get me wrong.. I HATE EM BOTH!!! But want to see Ovi go down again for another year ... he's just a big bully on the ice... stands in the same spot every shift waiting to get a pass so he can shoot... :rolleyes:

After watching all the other games going on in the 2nd round, Rangers are not even in the same league the inconsistent way they play :( Need a complete overhaul this Summer and get rid of all the "DEAD WOOD"

not pretty to watch for sure!!!they have to stay focused and not crumble every time something dose not go there way.if they can lay off the bad penalties and shot the puck at the goal instead of trying to make the impossible pass.we are doing ok in front and have some real fast sticks up front also.

I'M still clinging on to hope.... if they would all play to their ability, we would've won this series already, no doubt.... way too inconsistent, terrible execution and AV is keeping guys playing who haven't shown any heart in the playoffs yet, so he's to blame too!! :confused:

I believe we can take the next game no problem as long as we have a 4 goal lead with 1:00 to play. OR Hank gets a shutout and we score at least 2.
Seriously we have outplayed them and had the lead most of the series as Duff pointed out. There are plenty of positives to build off of. Look at what the Oilers did last night 7-1 after a devastating loss.

Solid Game 6 and we have them on the run for Game 7.

Also still think the Caps are coming back all the way and ousting the Pens. Fluery cant keep it up.

Last: AV benching anyone has to stop, sitting Lindberg and Brady late in games has backfired TWICE. This is the team you have , live and die with what does work, rolling all 4 lines and 6 D men for the WHOLE GAME

Hoping for some major changes this summer starting with AV who thinks the team was well prepared.... HE MUST BE ON DRUGS TO SAY THAT!! Time to start moving the "core" players out because they were the big problem in the playoffs and also the last few months of the regular season....

Asst Coach Scott Arniel better be on that bus heading out of town since they're always praising him for "orchestrating" the worst power play in the entire league!! embarrassing to watch!!!
