Hit Clark Reservoir again last night from 7:30 to a lil' after 9 PM. The night before produced just some slab crappie on a Husky Jerk (strange). Last night was a bit different--MUCH better results. Started with a senko under the madison hill rd bridge and pulled a spry lil' 1-1.5 lb'er out--good start. After a few more casts I headed up top to the reservoir where I was greatly rewarded when I switched to a 1/4 oz white spinnerbait. Third cast up top and boom! The fish mauled my lure--she didnt jump once and stayed really deep...as soon as it hit I knew it was a good fish. Rippin' drag in short bursts attempting to stay in the deeper water but I managed to coax her slow and steady to the shoreline. I didnt measure her length but she was easily all of 4 lbs. Awesome... My friend snapped a quick pic, I gave her a smooch and off she swam.
Straightened the arm on my spinnerbait and casted again--this time a bit more to the right of where the last one hit and BOOM! Mauled again on the cast immediately following the release of my last fish! She hit like a freight train but after she settled a bit I knew it wasnt AS big but a nice fish nonetheless. And she was much more acrobatic... After a few jumps I got her to the shoreline where she figured she's jump one more time--and she spit the hook! Luckily she landed literally on my feet so I was able to scoop her up for a photo op. This one was about 2-2.5 lbs. Solid fish. Both fish had FAT guts on them that were packed pretty tight.
I had one more dink after that and then called it a night... It was a good night... Some pics below. Catch em' up!
