View Full Version : Monster rainbow trout, wild brown, and musky

Sunday was definitely a day for the books, and a testament to the great fisheries we have here in New Jersey. Started the morning off on the hunt for trout. First fish of the day was a respectable wild brown trout. The next pool had a couple of rising trout, and I had to try a few different offerings before I got bit. After a hard, tense fight I slipped the net under one of the largest and fattest rainbows I've ever caught outside of the Great Lakes. A flawless, beautiful fish that was even more special because I caught it in New Jersey.

After that fish, I decided to switch things up and hit the Delaware in search of walleye and musky. Took a while, but I got the bite I was looking for. A nice musky slammed my lure right at my feet. It was a tense fight, given i had 12lb fluoro, but I managed to grab him after a short battle. He was released after a quick picture.

What beasts musky on 12 lb sounds fun but that rainbow is something else

Rainbows looks beastly!!! but cant tell if its 20" er 30"...hold it out further

ah man dont tell me you put the brown trout on the hook for that musky :D haha jk that's a sick collection in just 1 day. :)

That Rainbow looks quite familiar. Awesome Browns and pretty cool to crack. Musky on the Walleye set up! :D
