It’s hockey time! Nothing better than seeing Ovie and the Caps leading 5-0 after 28 minutes. They look like they’re still in Stanley Cup form. It got so bad that the B’s took out Tukka!

My “improved attitude” Habs minus Pacioretty and Galchenyuk are tied up in Toronto. Hopefully, the Price can be right and steal a few games this season.

Loved the John Amirante tribute last night... they can play that before each game all season..

Pleasantly surprised how well the new Rangers played against a top Pred team... Haven't seen all that energy in last couple of years.... and also loved how well new coach interacts with team after every shift and actually COACHES!!! My god... our last "coach" :rolleyes: showed no emotion throughout every game and expected his players to be trolls and not show emotions or physically retaliate for anything :mad: He looked like he was more interested in being a GQ model :D

Anyway, I know this team will get better after a bunch of games getting used to each other and a whole new system.... I'm excited already for the weekend games!!!

OUCH!!! hard loss to swallow last night in Carolina :mad: Total D breakdown after doing so much better 1st 2 games... Georgiev let in a couple of bad ones too but he had absolutely no help .... and maybe add some shooting target practice in this week ..... getting plenty of shots but not going in, and I'm having more faith in some of the kid's then I do with some of the "veterans" at this point :rolleyes:

Since we have no headline stars anymore, no captain, new coach to NHL, lots of young kids....I'm giving them a little time to get things straightened out :rolleyes:

Right now I'm seeing Buchnevich, Vesey, Pionk, Fast, DeAngelo, Skjei, Lettieri step up their games nicely... BUT on the down side and so far disappointing to say the least have been Shattenkirk, Zuccarello, Zibanejad, Spooner and ESPECIALLY Namestnikov!!! And even Lundqvist is still a good goalie, but not what he was 5-6 yrs ago....

They only have one way to go at this time, so I'm being patient Bill :D

YES!!! Rangers get a badly needed win last night against a tough SJ team, which made it even better..... still need to work on D, but saw some pretty passing and guys stepping up to make it happen.... Howden becoming a fan favorite with lot's of skill..... so happy to see Quinn sit out Shatty for not enough steady effort... AV would've let him play and sat out one of the kids instead :rolleyes:.... and I really thought he would've sat Namestnikov from his lack of effort last game, but he did a 180 and was speedy gonzales all night long.

Lot's of learning still to come, but felt good to get the 2 pts ..... :D

i thought they played very good in the 1st,they seemed to really have that fire that you need to win.the 2nd and 3rd were good but they went into that defensive

So close each game but the guys we're counting on just aren't coming through with that big goal... and theyre getting the chances but just not able to convert!! .... agree with BD, they played well most of the game and you'd think by now hank would know Ovie shoots from practically the same spot EVERY TIME and would be able to stop em' but I guess not :rolleyes:

Another game..... same story... a zillion SOG that don't go in...make mistakes and get scored on cause Lundqvist is not making the much needed saves... every unknown goalie becomes HOT when they play at the Garden... guys we were counting on just not playing up to expectations.... frustration going up and confidence going down :(

i am not going to say i was not worried when florida scored first.i am going to say that the rangers did not give up and played the type of good hockey they are capable of playing.they are young and excited and still make those rookie mistakes{to many men on...really} but i think that will change with time.

Not sure we have any real leaders on this team yet but Mika is by far playing the best. Split yes Hank sulking is getting old and maybe Hayes doesn't want to play for Quinn. Zucc looks lost and Shattenkirk may be the bring a guy to NY and watch him suffer ordeal.

Rookie Yasperi Kotkaniemi (3rd overall pick) with his first 2 NHL goals! I know that it’s early but I’ve really enjoyed the first dozen games of the season.

Beautiful arena the Sabres play; going to Rochester Wed-Thurs and I will miss the AHL game as Americans are playing in Buffalo Wed night instead of home. 3 Cups during Quenneville's stint in Chicago was was pretty damn good run though :D

Rangers 4 goal comeback last night against Price and a really good Hab team was a huge moral booster and moving up out of the cellar with 4 straight wins with everyone contributing to the effort.... Quinns system is starting to take hold, still need to clean up mistakes AND TAKE LESS PENALTIES!! Kudos to Stahl for finally getting physical out there... loved it!!

Great come-from-behind win for the Blue/Blanc/Rouge in Calgary. Vintage Carey Price with 43 saves. Defense starting to show holes with Shea Weber still out for another month.

After watching Dallas beat the Isles Sunday night I knew our young team had it's work cut out for them to hold them from going on another scoring spree... but our youth have lot's of energy and it's even rubbed off on our vets who seemed to lose it last year.... Happy Thanksgiving to all! Today is also my birthday and I began the holiday weekend by attending last night’s Devils game with my wife and daughter.
Credit to the Devils relentless forechecking but Habs defense looked awful. They badly miss Shea Weber and Paul Byron in the lineup.

Cmon Duff, Backes went down to the ice faster than a NYC hooker. He looked like he was shot by a .357 at close range. Still a penalty that Drouin cannot take late in the 3rd period in a 2-2 game.

Split, Bunker and Dales: Habs have lost five straight games. D Karl Alzner now playing in the AHL making $5-6 million. Today, Nikita Scherback another lousy 1st round pick placed on waivers. Power play ineffective, Carey Price with his new $80 million contact playing lousy. Glad to see Shea back after two months, hopefully Paul Byron back after missing 14 games.

Habs went 1-4 on their recent homestand. Thank goodness the Rangers came to town Saturday night! I hope my trip up to Montreal in March is still worthwhile.

I've always said the problem goes right up to the top and should have got rid of Glen Sather years ago.... his years were back in the 80's and hockey has changed so much since then but he hasn't .... still pulls all the strings on the puppets who have made bad draft choices and trades year after year after year.... seems we get the raw end of every trade .... guys who we trade away seem to shine on other teams and the guys we get turn into duds!!! :rolleyes:

Other owners would've booted Sather years ago but idiot owner Dolan has never done a thing to make that change of mentality.... if the Rangers were in any other market the arena would have to give away tickets to fill the seats!! :(

Not getting a Grade A player/captain for this season has also been a real problem as well as keeping a glut of centers and making them play wing just to keep them in the lineup!! WTF are they thinking?? :confused:

BD..I was so disgusted with last night's game I actually turned it off in the third and watched FLIPPIN' RV's!!! :D As good as Hank was on Monday, he was that BAD last night.... it was mind boggling that Quinn actually had him come back out to start the third.:confused: Looked like Hank partied too much on NYE and all he could do last night was swatting flies and missing every one... OMG!!

The Price was Right again last night as the Habs enter the All-Star and bye week 10 games over .500 what a difference from last years squad.

Most entertaining last night was watching Galchenyuk’s tying goal late in the third period get disallowed on a Phoenix offsides.

Assessment by commentators and players that they played a good game is BS!! Starting with 11F and 7D is ridiculous screwing up the lines the whole game... PP was so bad it was hard to watch :rolleyes: Hayes struts around in his usual 1/2 speed, Kreider can't bury the puck and can't figure out why.... comes down to "Can't Score, Can't Win!!" PERIOD!!! and enough with the personal vendetta and get Buch back in the lineup!!!

Looking forward to some meaningful trades at this point :(

I certainly agree BD if that happens once in a while.... problem being it's been the case in MANY games this year where players and coach said they did a lot of good things but STILL LOST.... at the end of the season all you see are those numbers in the Lost column which is not good.... this team needs 1 or 2 marquee leaders who can SCORE and keep lines together long enough to get their mojo going... :D

This is Gorten's chance to prove himself as a GM and make the right moves to get this team winning and fun to watch again

What a Sweet win last night over the Devils... both teams played hard and WANTED to WIN!! I love when Cody is in the lineup and brings back old time hockey.... Zib was on fire and that last goal from Zuc's pass was outrageous and a thing of beauty.... if we could get another line to click like that on a regular basis we would win those one goal games.... it was fun to watch!! :)

Thought the boys played pretty good against TB but again don't have that leader that could've scored on those early opportunities which might've been the difference..... and Vesey has been losing my confidence game after game... he's been a big letdown....and once more let me say you can't rely on 2 or 3 guys to constantly do all the scoring.... 90% of the team just never put the puck in the net :rolleyes:

Glad you guys are still so LGR. Believe me I am too just went into this year expecting 500 would be the best. So happy we are that or close. Dont think a leader has arrived yet, thought maybe Kreider would be but he went back to being small Ovie. Mika is by far our best.

Well Dave... multiple win streak wasn't happening last night after another blown lead :( Hank certainly wasn't the King on those last 2 goals.... Mika has been the diamond in the rough but with the other 17 skaters hardly ever contributing, we aren't going anywhere this year :rolleyes: I have no confidence in mgnt to make the right changes, but if we don't, this team is staying on the bottom of the ladder!! Rangeritus has spread throughout the team and I'm not sure a successful college coach's system is working once those "kids" are making over a million $ a season now :confused:

What a pleasant surprise for Ranger fans last night... NYR 4 TOR 1 .... pinch me, I thought I was dreaming! :D Georgiev was a suoer goalie all night and in my opinion it would've been a different story if Hank was in there :rolleyes:

I feel your pain but I’m really enjoying this NHL season so far. If you told me back in October that Montreal would be in a playoff hunt (with Shea Weber missing the first 25 games of the year), I wouldn’t have believed you. Now GM of the Year candidate Marc Bergevin who acquired Tomas Tatar and Max Domi in the off-season, tweaked the much-needed 4th line this week.
If only their power play and face off pct. get better...

and that's putting it mildly BD.... such inconsistency from game to game... you have to shake your head at these guys making millions of $$ and can't remember what they learned from their mistakes just a couple of games ago .... and make them all over again :confused: these guys are just not $5-6 million players in my opinion..... this whole season has been the same mental mistakes repeated again and again :( and not seeing any rising stars out of all these highly touted youngsters we traded for or drafted so far....

and just my opinion, but would still love to see Dolan sell the team, FIRE SATHER and start with a fresh management team because the NYR fans deserve better then mediocrity year after year!!

Agreed guys! Also getting sick of the "non calls" that are game changers! Parise goal to make it 3-1 should have been a NYR PP and down 2-1. Blatant tripping right in front of ref and bang we are down 2. Probably wouldnt have mattered much the way we were playing though. Seems to happen often.

So I went to Prudential Center last night to see my Habs stink up the joint against the Taylor Hall-Less Devils. Other game I went to on Thanksgiving Eve in Newark they lost 5-2.

Tonight they put up an 8 spot in Detroit. The line of Drouin-Domi-Shaw combined for 12 points! Still in the hunt for playoffs when the team was written off back in October. It’s been a fun year!

Taking my annual trip this weekend up to Montreal with my friend Stu (his uncle has season tix since 1950–he’s 92 now). Free tix at the Bell Center, poutine, smoked meat and Montreal bagels = Carey Priceless!

Sorry, but there's less then a dozen games left in the season and I don't see anyone buying into Quinn's "System"!! Went to the Saltwater Show yesterday afternoon...GOOD ..... Stayed up to watch the Rangers/Calgary.... BAD!!! Horrendous road trip so far... no one is showing up to play :mad: The system is failing... These guys are just not buying into Quinn's system and it shows.... same mistakes game after game... no one knows what to do on the ice, PP coordinator should be fired!! .... the few goal scorers we had in mid-season have all gone sour... nothing but frustrated faces in that locker room....

If Gorten doesn't get some veteran leaders on this team over the Summer and this team keeps going in this direction next Fall, Gorten AND Quinn will be on the Rangeritus Midnight Express out of NY and President for Life Sather will be bringing in New Management, whereas HE should be on that train out of here too!!

Quinn has lost control of this bunch!! Getting rid of all the veterans has made this team an embarrassment right now and the quicker this season ends for them the better.... Quinn's constant "musical chairs" changing lines hasn't helped at all .... no one can get used to playing with each other from shift to shift... and these kids can't control their frustration anymore... it's a total cluster F*** out there....don't remember anything like this in all these years!! Nice to to see some old fashioned slugfest against Devils yesterday.... I think it's time for Lundqvist to hand over the reins to Georgiev next season... and glad for another loss to try and get to a better draft position cause wins mean nothing at this point...:D

While the Rangers season has been over for some time now, the Montreal Canadiens, after 80 games played, and 94 points, still have a chance at making a playoff berth. What a season! Even I didn’t predict this turnaround in one season, especially with Shea Weber missing the first 25 games.

Tomas Ta-taaarrr for Pacioretty, Domi for Galchenyuk, rookie KK (3rd overall pick), career years from Gallagher, Drouin, Petry and Danault. If they only had a halfway decent power play and back up goalie to give Carey Price a rest once in awhile, we would have certainly clinched a playoff spot by now.

Not complaining...it’s been a great season in Montreal.

I couldn't be happier since I've been calling on getting rid of him for the last bunch of years... he was way past his useful life in this organization...Some of the biggest signing flops were all on him...... I always wanted John Davidson to come back as Pres and I'm hoping he gets asked...

If they want a complete re-build they need to cut ties with him since his outdated ideas and spending lot’s of money on guys that were past their prime and fizzled out once they hit the Rangeritus syndrome... We need a brand new leader who can get this team back up as a contender... and while they’re at it, take a look for a new defensive coordinator because Lindy Ruff seems to just stand behind the bench each game wondering what he’ll do with his next paycheck and our defense has been crap since he took over!!! :D

THE END! That's it for the Rangers this season :D Was great beating Pitt in OT to close out the season....Certainly hoping these kids learned what it takes to win in this league and come ready next Fall .... and counting on Jeff Gorton to sign the right guys this Summer to bring the team back to being contenders again.... certainly was a tough season for fans, for sure!! At least I can watch the playoffs now with NO STRESS!!! hahahahaha

Going to be tough series for my Isles but anything from here on is gravy...definitely didn't think they would be this good this year. For them to turn around their goals against like they did was amazing...it kinda makes you believe a coach makes THAT much of a difference.

I was shocked to see the other NY/NJ teams get the first 2 picks in the draft, it looks like Hughes goes 1st but I feel it's razor thin between him & Kakko...Don't worry Slip, the Rangers won't mess up...either one of them is a score!
