Default Who says there are no fish in Overpeck Creek...

I just recently took a new job and my office is in Fort Lee (right next to the GWB). As you can imagine there are not many local options for bass fishing so I have been heading up to Oradell or over to the Passaic whenever I need to scratch the itch. This morning the traffic was light and I found myself with a half hour to kill before my first meeting of the day. Despite reading on multiple threads that the toxic waters of Overpeck Creek were too polluted for anything but Carp to survive, I decided to give it a try. I fished the shoreline by Overpeck Park and managed to land 4 Larry's in under 30 minutes. One of them was actually a decent fish. All 4 were caught on a white chatter bait with a green pumpkin zoom lizard trailer. Looks like I have found my new local spot!

.

That's awesome. I wonder what your co-workers thought when you arrived for the meeting all dressed up but your shoes were covered in mud.

Yeah I forgot to bring a spare set of shoes. They will probably be in even worse shape before the day is done since I am about to call it a day and head to Oradell.

Pretty sure they allow boats. In addition to all the crew teams out practicing I saw a few Jon boats cruise by. I also see what look to be boat ramps just south of the Degraw Ave. bridge.

I had a buddys jon boat out there couple years back but from what I learned the ramp isn't for launching boats like mine. I think its just for crew, car tops, yaks, canoes and other "carry down" I think are fine. I have a 14 ft duranautic that needs to be floated off. maybe ill stop into the police station and ask. the launch looks fine . id love to launch there as I moved to the area couple years back .
