Thumbs up Re: Splitrock Res.

You won't hear much about Split Rock as many people try to keep one of the best bass lakes in New Jersey on the down low. Log books show I did better in June than in May there. It seems like a late spawn on that lake but fishes really well as water warms up a bit.
Give it a shot. I only ask that you take a trash bag with you and spend the 5 or 10 mins cleaning up what trash people have left behind. I know many clean the trails there as often as they can.
The worst thing I ever saw there was a guy taking an inflatable raft out of a huge cardboard box and fills it with air and launches. Where do you think he left the huge cardboard box, correct, right in the middle of the parking lot. The address on the box said Brooklyn NY !! I folded up the box and put it in my pick up when I left, I wanted to mail the box back to the guy, but I took it to the recycling center instead.

I love how people treat public land like its a garbage dump. When your home, do you throw your trash out on the lawn? No, you bag it and put it curbside. Easy enough and we all do it so why so damn lazy when it comes to public areas?(not just parks but sport events, concerts, movie theaters et al). I see this same sh*t at work. We have 4 large ashtrays on the walls of the building for smokers(we only have about 4-5 workers out 40 who do smoke so thats like one tray per person) to put out their cigarettes out in yet the front of the building is littered with discarded butts -hundreds of 'em. These people with their nasty habit make it worst with their laziness.

If it's closed and there are no fish, then I wont be going. But if I do, Ill be sure and clean up the area like I always do. Andy, I have alsways done better in late June, but we just got a new Bass Raider 10E and are itching to get out. Andy, i'll Pm you when we get back, if I do get out.
