Default Fishing trips

Guys,

I an looking for suggestions on lake house fishing trips. I have done a bunch with my friends the past few years but now we are looking for new waters. Looking at anything within a 3 hour drive from north jersey in either upstate ny, vermont or PA. Thanks!

If you're willing to take a longer drive, I've had a couple really nice trips to Black Lake, NY. Lots of pike and bass with opportunities for musky, walleye or even lake sturgeon. Panfishing is excellent as well. There are few lakeside cabin places that are inexpensive and you can rent boats and get food, bait and tackle. The lake is only about 20 minutes from the Canadien border and we fished one day on the St. Lawrence and I stuck, among other fish, a fatty northern off a weedline in 25-feet of water. The Larry is crystal clear b/c of the zebra mussels so the weedlines grow very deep. It's kind of a cool place if you've never been. I went up to Black Lake twice and caught plenty of fish both times. Totally worth it and I'd go back in heartbeat.
Here's a pic of the northern.

i go up to central VT a lot in the summer, but that's a little further than you want to drive. you can't cast into a stream or lake up there without catching trout though.

Uhhh...Passaic River!

The Adirondacks have a ton of great lakes with a ton of variety. A friend's family has a house up there and I hear lots of secondhand reports of great Pike, Bass, Trout, and Walleye fishing up there.

Lake Champlain is a great bet, maybe a touch over 3 hours but well worth the trip. Pretty much anything you could want to catch is in that lake. There are also a lot of smaller lakes in the Poconos that can provide some great fishing.

Long Lake upstate NY. PIKE fishing at its best.

Yep. Ticonderoga is a about 3-4 hours and that's what I consider the south part of the lake (even though it's not the most southern point).

I would also suggest somewhere in the adirondacks. So many great fisheries up there that are close to each other. Some of the best smallmouth fishing around
