Default fly fishing

did a bit of fly fishing earlier in june, before the water warmed up too much. landed a few nice rainbows, including a hefty fat 22 incher (i think she might be a friend of fast eddie's hahaha) I did also loose a few fish, including a pure silver beast, that dwarfed the 22" that i caught! It rocketed out of the water about 2-3 ft multiple times so i got a very good look at it. broke me off after a few runs into a log jam and had me contemplating snapping the stupid noodle fly rod over my knee haha... i know i could've landed that monster on spinning ultra light gear, but oh well... maybe i'll see this NJ steelhead again in the fall.

the smaller the hook, the more impressive the fish... this is fly fishing rule number 1. I try to go no bigger than a size 57 for the brown lint ball fly.

I make my own hooks under a microscope using dust mite legs.
