Default Wide Gap Hooks-fluke

Looking for wide gap hooks for fluking. Using 4" gulp. Most that I see use a worm bend at the top. Is this the right hook for threading on Gulp.
Thanks

Howard - Most people are using 6/0 or 7/0 Octopus hooks for the gulp teaser while others are 7/0, 8/0 or even 9/0.

Some lively discussion on that here http://www.njfishing.com/forums/show...ht=Fluke+hooks

One time last year I decided to give the fresh water rubber worm hooks a try and they seemed to work. Since they are longer, they kept the hook point further down on the gulp tail to avoid short strikes and the bend at the top seemed to help keep the gulp from sliding down on the hook.

Wondering if anyone else has tried it...

I've used both Gami Octopus , and Baitholders up to about 7/0.. both work ok.. dont like offsets so much for teaser rigging though...But last year I tried these VMC heavy duty flipping hooks (marketed to LMB guys) and they sweet.. I like the straight shank, and the barbs at the eye keep the gulp on nice without tearing them up as bad as a full baitholder.. wide gape, so a 5/0 gives plenty of bite on a 6" gulp.... A bit pricey.. but Cabela's happens to have them on sale right now..

These work great for me since there's a holder on it preventing the gulp from being pulled down the hook. Gamakatsu makes them. Hard to find though.

Do any of you sponsors out there carry either of these? How much for 5/0?

Can't be sure from the pic. Do these hooks have an offset? Thanks.
