Default back from winni

was a great trip for sure.left the house here at 4am and was there by 9:45am.they
let us check in early so we unpacked and were on the ice at 1:30pm.walked out
about 200yds to a spot we had looked up.right away we are into mixed size yellows, from 4in to 13in but we did go to winni to catch yellows.we make a short move and start catching yellows again.with not a whole lot of time we stay and start drilling holes.at 2:35 i get a hit and set.the 4lb test is running off the reel.after a 10 minute tussle i pull a 6lb rainbow thru the hole.it was one of the most beautiful bows i had ever caught.the colors, hooked jaw just a pretty fish.took a pic and he was released to swim again. we had a guide for thurs & friday{friday we were canceled due to wind}the guide was great and told us right up front that the full moon and south wind were going to make it tuff.we said lets go and we did.fished hard for 7 hours and had 1 giant white perch and 2 lakers to show for it.we read fish the whole time but we could not get them to eat.sat & sun we fished by ourselves and did ok getting a few lakers.we could have stayed with the perch, smallmouth, pickerel and crappies but we wanted big whites and big trout.the folks up there are great and will do all they can for ya.anyone wanting any info just shoot me a pm

Wow great report.. glad to hear that you got on some fish, a 6lb bow is real nice to get through the ice. I am happy to hear that you got there and back safely and caught a nice mixed bag.

thanks,it was a great moment to have shared with my son.we had a great time and there is plenty of access to the lake.we were so thrilled the way things worked up there that we already made plans for next year.this is one of those lakes that makes it easy to fish.we had no machine to travel with and cut all our holes without power.if your willing to walk 200yds out you can catch a fish of your dreams.the guide we used was great and very very helpful with the do's and donts of the lake.if the weather was not so iffy i would be going back for sure
