Default Victor Crowell CARP!!!!

Looks like Andy has been holding out on me that there's a carp honey-hole in his hood. I've been to this place twice and both times it's taken me just minutes to hook-up. I sent Andy a text early this morning and told him where I'd be fishing after work. This time I brought a change of clothes in case I needed to take a swim....and I did. Andy met me and with minutes the rod was doubled over. After a nice little fight, a little help from Andy and some wet wading, the fish was in hand. Thanks to Andy for the help, the good company and the photo.

Thumbs up Re: Victor Crowell CARP!!!!

Place is loaded with carp. I talked to a few KGB on the Raritan and they said the best time for carp is in the fall, with frost on the ground.
I don't hit the pond much, I usually run over to the Raritan river instead.

Nice catch catfish. I used to live a 5 minute walk from there. It's nice to know something is alive in that place.

Saw some HUGE carp jumping all over that place the last couple times I was there, drove me and my son nuts not being able to hook up with them....did manage to catch what looked like a giant goldfish there, didn't have any barbels, and was at least 11 inches.....always lots of sunnies for the little guy there, at least...

Thanks guys!! And listen to Jmurr, he taught me what to do. As soon as I got there, I tossed a cans-worth of creamed corn into the spot I'd be fishing. After changing out of my work clothes and getting my gear together, I set out a line with 3 kernels of whole kernel sweet corn and had a fish on in minutes. This is how I have caught EVERY carp this year. I don't even bother with anything else any more. Thanks again Jmurr.

I work with a guy that fly fishes corn and catches the Carp repeatedly in Cranbury

He has invited me several times and it hasn't worked out for me yet. There is a stream there...not sure where, that when it rains the carp stage at a certain area and can be hooked with the fly rod...CORN

Gotta take him up on the next offer...I got a fly rod that would double over with these fish.

Back home in TN we used to bow fish them. Knew an old guy that would eat them and gave the catch to him. Have seen huge carp in Spruce Run and have taken my bow last year...just in case, but no shots
