Default 10 and 12 Ounce OMT Bucktails

My neighbor was kind enough to give me around a dozen brand new 10 and 12Ounce OMT Bucktails in different colors. They look like what I would use for fluke but I typically wouldn't use such large BT's for fluke fishing. Any suggestions what i can use these for would be appreciated.....Cod perhaps?

fluke

afternoons when the south wind starts cranking. you'll need a pole with more backbone than you usually use for bucktailing but having your jig up and down will produce far more fish than with all that scope out.

And the fish seem to always start chewing GOOD when the wind gets too hard/fast to hold with 6-8oz

I would be happy to take them off your hand. Would use for cod, deepwater seabass, halibut, grouper and tile fishing around slack tide

They work great in Ambrose Channel for fluke until the current really starts ripping. Use a stinger hook with them and a sturdy pole.

I sell more OMT's from size 10oz and up, than I do smaller stuff.

You gotta remember, those heavier jigs you have, are used for fluking in some areas. ( Ambrose, ocean, etc..)

Other uses, bass, seabass, cod, pollack!!!

That size is perfect for jigging n trolling striped bass, as well as fishing deeper wrecks for sea bass. The OMT Jigs are usually made with the smaller hook, compared to Spro or other brands that use a giant hook. The smaller hook is something that OMT and I worked on a while back. Who wants a 9/0 monster hook when using for sea bass or fluke??

Aside from jigging.....you can troll them with great success for striped bass and tuna! ( heavier hook needed for tuna though)

Best of luck with them!
