Default Blackfish Jigging Rod

I'm sure this topic has been covered many times, but I'd like to throw it out one more time...I'm looking for a blackfish jigging rod to pair with a stradic FK 2500. I've tried both the trevala s 6'6 XL and 6'3 L with the reel and both felt good but I'm curious about other options.

I just picked up a ghost hunter spinner from jigging world. It's super light. Mainly to be used in kayak. Will report on it next week after I get a few bends in it.

The slow-pitch jigging style rods are good, but I prefer a faster blank for shallow tog jigging. Shimano Zodias 7' M or MH is a great rod, but the new Expride A is worth the extra cash. Super light and crisp blanks that translates into lightning fast hooksets, and super sensitive so you can feel that "right bite."

Faster lighter blanks the way to go ! I've always preferred a med power FT conventional blank using bait . Bait n jig technique I prefer the spin set up !
A 7' -7.6 ' med power extra fast taper spin outfit , translates into a a very solid set up for this fishery .
What many miss here is the rod construction , mine all have 9" + foregrips to allow u to hold the Rod in front of the reel , this dramatically lightens the tip weight & notifies u of the slightest hit , which can translate into solid hook sets when coupled to an ultra fast taper blank .
The rods I use fit this bill perfectly truly the lightest fastest I've ever seen anywhere ! I've only taken smaller fish on them so far up to 11#'s but it was no match to move n land these fish w/o issue.

I went with the ghost hunter 100. Super sensitive and light. Again mainly for a kayak in 25-30 fow.
We shall see

Like I said super light but super tuff. Tog up to 19 inches on 1 oz jigs in 12 foot of water.
Rod doubled over and it was great. Fun fun fun.
My buddie lost a big one in the rocks. To light a rod..... operator error...... who knows.
It happens.
Definitely would recommend this rod for shallow water fishing.

You may consider checking out the Silver Bullet 150. I had mine custom made and extended out to 7ft. I take this and the shogun ML on the boat with me every time. One of our other good fine friends here could vouch how well it works... although he may not want to admit it openly!
