Carnegie Lake
Hey guys Don't post that often but always check site out Would like a little input if anyone can help Thinking about trying out a new lake this year Have read Carnegie Lake has a public boat ramp and allows electric motors. Would like to know if its worth the trip out there for the day as I don't see much posted about it Know its decent size. I'm in Monmouth county and would hate to drive an hour or so and find out not worth the time. Thanks for any info anyone can provide

Re: Carnegie Lake
I've spent a good deal of time on this lake. There's plenty of good size LMBs in there. The boat ramp in of Route 27, almost at the end of the lake, on the Kingston end. There are fish up there and definitely along the shoreline. Do yourself a favor and check the PU Athletics schedule to make sure that you're not trying to go on a race day.

Re: Carnegie Lake
I fish that lake from the Aqueduct a lot. If you work the shoreline in a boat in warm water you should catch a lot of bass to 5 lb and possibly a big muskie or pickerel. I caught 16.5" crappie, 10 lb channel catfish, 24 lb carp, 27 lb snapper, 17" rainbow trout, muskies and 5 species of catfish there. The lake is shallow with no cover.

Re: Carnegie Lake
I think the big fish kill-off last year has hurt the population of baitfish and possibly bass in Carnegie, along with the cormorants. I live 2 minutes away and fish it from my boat quite frequently. I'll start hitting it again regularly in the next couple of weeks and I'll post updates on what I see.
