Default Rig making

Im tired of buying rigs that I could probably make for allot less money and money is tight right now. Im looking for good tutorials or books that show how to tie basic fishing rigs for shore and off shore because I do allot of party boats. The stuff I have found so far is not really specific to this area. Thanks

Most rig tying tutorials I've come across on YouTube have been on point. Search by species and rig type i.e. snafu blackfish, hi-lo for sea bass, fluke bucktail with teaser rig, snelling, braid to leader knots, etc etc. I've prob added 8 to 10 new knots and rigs to my arsenal thanks to YouTube tutorials

If you fish party boats a lot get there a little early and ask the to teach you. Being a mate myself I never mind taking 15 minutes while at dock to teach you something will save me from doing it out on the water. Also they are there so early to light the boats up we have time to kill and this passes it.

I am not sure what kind of rigs you are looking for. As far as blackfish rig, I have been looking on online resources for a while now and I even bought some custom pre-tied rigs to see how other people do theirs. This guy kinda sums up everything that I’ve learned so far. I wish if I could find this video earlier...

YouTube is very helpful. I also have a great book with many knots and rigs explained. I will try to take a photo of it and post here.

In addition to YouTube, watch and talk to others...

Learn these basic knots and it's going to cover 90% of what you'll need.

- Polamar knot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWw_f7CQQLg used to tie on hooks and lures

- Snell and loop knot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPI4rcDi1iE used to tie on hooks and make loop end. One advantage of the snell is the knot will not spin on the eye of the hook and will pull the hook straight when setting the hook.

- Improved Albright or Alberto knot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rs4Wdoc8-0o used to join 2 lines together.

- Dropper Loop https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3cGhPWRJI0 used for high low rigs.
