We did it again! Departed the dock at 5am and were loaded once again with large market cod, large cod, slammer pollack and done by 9:30am. All boxes were so full, fish were falling out all over the deck.

We started out in the fleet early catching a bunch and then it slowed to a pick of smaller fish, so we took a ride on our own and found a big pile of fish with no one around. And it was non-stop...as soon as you hit the bottom you were on with a bounce or two. Slammer cod were hitting the deck as quick as we could take them off. The fish were on the move so you had to stay on top of them all the time.

Off to the haddock grounds afterwards to pick about 12 or so haddock. While fishing for haddock we must have released another 20 plus cod. We could not even get away from them.

It just doesn't get any better and it's been good since opening day.

There are still openings, but not many.

I can't say enough about Capt Dave's operation. The boat is clean as a whistle, Sandro is an awesome mate, The hotel was great, and Capt Dave is a native NJ guy ;-) But what was impressive is how he hunted down these fish. There were a good 20 to 30 boats, just floating around, hoping to float over some fish and they did from time to time. These fish were in small pods and moving quite a bit. Capt Dave would look, look, look until we were right over a small pile of fish, he would then have us immediately drop. We would all be hooked up multiple times. As soon as that spot slowed, he had us pull the lines up and he looked once again. We were balen fish faster than any other boat out there. He really knows his fishing.

What can I say, that was some of the sickest fishing I have ever encountered. Like Jon said Capt Dave worked his butt off to put us on the piles of fish and he put us on some quality fish to boot. All away from the fleet. A hell of a captain, I can't wait to get back there again. It was great fishing with this crew of Jon, Howie, The Leifs and Billy, a bunch of kick a$$ fisherman. Till next time boys...........

Thanks to you all....you were all a lot of fun. And to Leif Jr. and Howie, you guys are the haddock slayers...forget about those damn cod anyway.

Also, who says you can't catch fish with bananas on the boat???! I'm throwing a couple in my bag right now for todays charter.

Great video by the way, I need to get on of those things.

Heading out to the boat and will report this afternoon.....gonna be tough to beat yesterday with all good fishermen on board.
