Default Rod for Abu Garcia Orra Inshore Baitcaster

I got an Abu Garcia Orra Inshore baitcaster for Christmas - nice light little reel. Was looking to pair it with a lightweight fast action type rod.. will prob use mostly for fluking or other general inshore. Anyone with this reel or similar type baitcaster have any suggestions on a rod that pairs well with it? I have a spare med-heavy fluke/striper rod, but seems to heavy though. Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks,

Bill

Do you have a budget in mind and do you intend to drag bait, buck tail or try and use it for both?

Well what Dan suggested is certainly in your price range. If you want to stretch a little further there are a sea of rods that can meet your needs.

You can go see Kevin Bogan and get a custom rod and at the same time see what balances well with that reel. Or, you can go in person to one of our sponsors and see how the stock Penns, Shimano Trevala, St Croix or Tsunami rods feel in your hand with that reel. All great rods and close to your price point..

Can't stress enough to go in person with your reel ... You need to feel how the rod balances with your reel and how comfortable it feels in your hand with our style of fishing.. No shortcuts here. Take the time and you won't regret whatever you decide on..

Thank you both for the suggestions. That battalion definitely seems worth checking out. Like you said, won’t know for sure until I go feel em out in person. It’s a lightweight little reel, want to make sure I find something that pairs well with it.

Thanks to all for the input. I went to one of our site sponsor’s tackle shop last week, and Pete set me up with a nice Tsunami rod that pairs well with the reel. Now all I need to do is catch a fish with it

Be safe

Bill

Great Bill and thanks for supporting our sponsors... Let us know how you like the rod. Those Tsunami's are a good value...
