Stripers up river! 5/6

Bounced all over the Raritan yesterday looking for anything that wanted to cooperate. Walked the towpath from here to there and switched sides of the river I was fishing on. I couldn’t find anything, not even a Small jaw. Blehhh! Finally made my way up to the ladder with nobody else in sight. River was running at one of my favorite levels and I had a feeling fish would be there. Casted my life away before connecting with the first Schoolie Striper. Keep on casting, hooked a good one and it dumped my reel and flew downstream. Ouch! Switched from the ultra lite to the Mojo Bass rod, a little heavier and takes a beating. Hooked another that simply came unbuttoned on a Shad. But got rewarded a short time later with 2 nice fish. The smaller ones tail was messed up really bad but swam off well on the release. Gotta love this time of year. Pick your poison and keep on casting. TIGHT LINEZ!!!

River still running quite high from the rain that was at least 3 days ago. Nice bass !!

yea where the heck are the smallmouth?! those are nice river stripes, i love this time of year too, great sights to see on the river. Always a heron around putting on a show too
