Default Who wants to help clean the Rockaway River & Jackson Brook in Dover? 6/15/15

Made a couple trips to the Rockaway River in Dover over the past couple days. I had posted last month about organizing a cleanup. I would like to reach out to Hacklebarney TU, Friends of the Rockaway River, and the Town of Dover. Is anyone here affiliated with one of these organizations.

I also took some stream temps earlier today around 2 for those who are interested. There were taken in the shallows with the thermometer submerged.

Next to RR tracks @ Richboynton St. 72 degrees
Under the Rt. 46 bridge 68 degrees
Next to E Blackwell St Bridge 69 degrees

Another thing of interest to me is that it looks like the beavers built a dam on Jackson Brook at the Rt. 46 bridge. I know that this stretch of the brook is classified as Non Trout, but overall I have a feeling that it would be good for the brook if at least part of the dam was breached to improve water flow and allow for fish migration.

I am in. Not affiliated with anyone. Maybe reach out to Rockaway River Water Cabinet too.
