Great Fish, I'm not one to b*tch about people catching fish but the Musky is something special to me so maybe this is just a PSA. In the very hot weather the added stress put on these monsters when being caught, a lot of times is enough to kill these fish. Many times they will swim off with all the power in the world to later die because of their stress levels. That's why I lay off the Musky in July & August. I'm not telling anyone what fish to target and I know most of you have the utmost respect for the fish we catch but please just use a little extra TLC when taking these monsters.

+1 on the post above. Waters over 80 degrees can cause a musky serious problems. Especially in a heat wave like this you have to be careful. The oxygen level is low and with big musky they need a lot to go through their lungs. I'm an avid musky fisherman, but for now my gear will be hung up until that water drops back to a safe level. Like the post above says I'm not trying to offend anyone or tell them what to do, but please just be careful with such a special fish. Congrats on the fish though. She is a beauty
