Default Musky 10/26

Hit the musky today it started out great but ended bad.Hit 1 bow right away on a pin minnow the fish was real dark almost black. Then it was a smallie fest landing 4 in short order then nothing.Headed further down stream and rolled 4 fish but none came to hand.Fish were not aggressive at all, but I seen quite few nice ones holding up in some holes. Why is it that fly guys like to stand in the middle of the best spots up to their waist and cast towards water that is <1 foot deep?

Thumbs up Re: Musky 10/26

The age old question, and you see it time and time again. I've worked an entire stretch of stream only to come back and see the fly guy standing in the same spot roll casting for 3 hours, explain that one to me !

Happened a few weeks ago, was fishing a nice drift and a fly guy walked right into the drift. I just keep on casting right at him.

That's cause most can't cast unless they're in the middle of the river.

jeff-did the fly guy take your offering? just kidding but lets not turn this into a fly guy bashing. different methods for different fishers. neither is better, just different and unfortunately we find inconsiderate people in both camps.
the fly fisher does need to be in the middle if he expects to make casts beyond 20 or 30 feet since he needs the clearance both in front and behind. since taking up fly fishing recently, i have a renewed vigor towards my fishing and thats what its all about!

No way that i'm bashing fly fisherman as I also fly fish, however I don't stand in the middle of the river unless there is no one else fishing.

No leaves but there was no wind, the south branch was loaded with leaves. Most of the trees up there were almost bare.
