Thumbs up Raritan river 6/4:

Fished the pipe in South Bound Brook for a while, couldn't buy a fish in the fast water I heard a splash behind me in the slow water and thought it was probably a carp, I threw my lure over that way just for the heck of it. As I was reeling in a huge smallmouth crushed my lure with about 4 ft. of line out, I saw the whole thing. I paniced and opened my bail The fish took off and leaped 5 ft. into the air, waved a fin at me, shook his head and he was gone I did find one of the fallen heros from the spring shad run.
I left there and went up to the falls for a bit, wading out trying to do recon on all the bombers we lost there in the spring, couldn't find any and didn't catch anything. I did see a 10lb. carp trying to jump up the falls, I guess he thought he was a trout or something.
Went up to the shale flats in Duke Island Park for an hour or so and couldn't even find a left over stockie
I'll put up a bunch of photos. None of fish.

You had a beautiful day out for some nice photos.

Nice snake but I'm all snaked out already, I've seen more in the last 3 weeks than I saw all of last summer. I now understand where the expression "hissy fit" comes from as I scared the crap out of one (and it me even more) and the thing slid under a rock and just kept hissing in a real pissed off way even after I gave it a wide berth and had walked away.
