Default ice report /fissure warning

I went to the cong today and went looking for perch went to spot #1 and found a big crack/fissure forming, it is at the start of henderson cove. with the warm temps this week that thing is going to be dangerous... I found some perch to play with and then a slime dart showed up and scared the little guys away. the thing hit a marmooska jig so that spot was done. so off to spot #2 and found more little 6" perch to play with and another slime dart showed up and screwed up the fishing there as well so i moved again and no fish wanted to play and i called it with the fish count at 4 prech and two slime darts. I put a slime dart pic to show the jig in it's mouth i had to retie so i would not loose that jig i have caught a bunch of perch on that thing. sorry the pic is upside down but that is perfect for a slimedart...

did you happen to check the thickness on that fissure? cause the ones we checked (even though they looked bad) were 4-5" thick so as long as the night time temp forecasts of 20s are true, we should be fine

I had to jump that 2 weeks ago it was super sketchy. On the way out in the morning it was ok.
On the way back it took me about 15 minutes to find a place safe enough to get back. I actually had to tie a longer rope on my flipover and toss it across. Then i had to find a solid spot on the opposite side of the crack then use the spud bar like a pole vaulter. Then i had to pull the flipover across when it hit open water i just turned and ran with it and it kinda floated across. **** that spot the rest of this year lol

yea i drilled a hole right next to it and there was 7" but the warm temps this week and the water on top of it is not going to help things any. besides i was by myself and did not want to mess with that thing it looks worse up close..

You guys are far braver than I. I fished near Bertrans Island on a Wed. and there was open water over the channel. After 3 very cold nights, went back on Sunday and everything was solid. Went for a walk to see how others were doing and headed back across to our set. Forgot about the channel until we were looking at the weeds through a window pane. Survived and that ended my ice fishing ventures over 50 years ago.
