Hey all,
Just a few weeks away from April 1st and spring blackfishing. For the first couple weeks our trips will be 10hr trips fishing long range for large fish given our current water temps. 10hr trips are 150 a man open boat or 900 for the boat. Once our inshore temps warm up we will run 8 hr trips. 8 hr trips are 135 a man or 800 for the boat. Trips include crabs, tackle, lead. Starting in May until May 18th...we will be running 16hr Tilefish/Deep drop trips for large Golden Tile, bluelines, snowies and deepwater redfish daily. On May 25th we will start daily 8 hr Seabass and May 18th evening 6 or 8 hr Drum trips. Our calendar can be viewed at http://www.ductworksportfishing.com/#!page4/cfvg

How far are these trips running?

The 10hr trips are offshore long range trips running anywhere from 35 to 60 miles....we are pretty much picking up where we left off in Feburary fishing water deeper than 120ft. A lot of time the 10hr trips run over as I will go as far as I have to get water....some of last years trips we fished off northern Virginia in late January and Feb. Its really all dependant on water temps. Generally you see large fish on these trips...our largest last spring was 19.75lbs.

Based on the water temps I would say at least the first two weeks of the season will all be offshore and once southern temps warm up far south...The 8 hr trips we fish anywhere from 10 to 30 or so miles from N of CM down to southern Delaware northern MD. Again all depending on what seems to be producing best.

In this resepct having a fast boat is nice...boat cruises 30kts when I can...25kts most days...I can cover ground if needed.

Yeah what Sam said - I was on the trip too. Phil will run where ever to get the job done. Have many DD's in last 2 years with phil.
