Talking Re: Boating license question

Please call the New Jersey Motor Vehicle agency at 609-292-6500 and get the correct information regarding your question about boat being on your driver licvense. Or go on line and read it yourself ! I'm a fisherman and I do not lie or give out false information.

Default Re: Boating license question ( THE LAW )

I TEACH THIS FOR YEARS and am a NJSP Provider. And give this site's member course discounts too.

THE LAW:

YOU NEED- the NJSP Boater Safety card for ANYTHING that has a motor electric or gas. Unless you have a USCG license(but this is NG for NJ lakes).

TIDAL/SALT WATER- You NEED NJSP card. Do NOT need DMV endorsement ever.

NON-TIDAL (lakes)
You still need NJSP Card. You go to DMV with your NJSP Card and pay DMV $16 for Boat Endorsement on your Driver's licsnes or your non-driver ID card. BUT................ if you boat in lakes with LT a 10hp gas or only 12vdc electric (not 24 or 48vdc) you do NOT need DL Endorsement ever. It's a waste of your money.

The NJSP card has no renewals and is good for life once issued.

PM or call me and I'll explain more if you're still unsure.
