Decision time. Do I buy the new Accurate Fury or the new Avet. Want to upgrade from my Torium 14. Reel will be used for sea bass and blackfish

Good guy has a Shimano Tranx and Seigler SGN for sale at a very fair price in the classified section. That accurate fury is nice though.

The bearing and the drag in my Avet SXJ rusted after one season. boat rod never even been splashed. Took it to The Reel Seat for service they said it's a common problem and I may get two years now that it is packed a little better with grease. They no longer sell Avets for this reason.

Not sure how Saltiga hasn’t entered in your choices far superior to both

Penn 25 N is a decent reel as well , I have several Saltigas & as mentioned they are excellent reels but at half the price I've used a few Penns for the past several years and they hold up well , I've personally had no issues .

I've talked to a few people who haven't had any issues with them. Mines on my fluke rod so it gets the most use and I rinse it after every trip. Plenty of other options out there so it's my last

Have you considered the Maxel Hybrid 25? Star drag for bottom fishing, 28 lbs drag, 5:1 gear ratio, the Accurate is a little better for blackfish at 4:1, but 5:1 isn't too bad. Both are overkill for inshore seabass. Casting problems with the spool release on the original Hybrid 20's aren't an issue with the 25. Check it out, a nice little reel.
