Thumbs up Almost 40 years worth !

I think I bought it at Lenteni Marine out in Flemington, not knowing anything about canoes. Indian brand 17ft. fiberglass flat bottom canoe weighing in at a whopping 73 pounds. Spent many many evenings throwing yellow jitterbugs at dusk on Whites pond off Rt. 206 when I lived in Flanders. The canoe has followed me everywhere, even lost it once and my friend gave it away, I had to go to lake Parsippany to retrieve it. Watched my them girlified land a state record in it at Round Valley. Been down the North branch of the Raritan hundreds of times. All the clean ups really took a toll on it and it was so old the fiberglass when beginning to get soft making it unsafe for travel, both on the road and in the water. Big shout out to Uncle Ken for letting me keep it at his house, but I knew it's days were numbered. I guess I got my monies worth out of it The guy at the dump said I can dispose of it if I cut it up in 3 ft sections. Looking to get a 14 ft. Grumman (like I had) next spring, we shall see.

YOU SURE DID GET YOUR MONIES WORTH OUT OF IT, however sad to see it in pieces in the back of your truck a bunch of great memories with that one for sure Andy. My canoe just turned 40 on June 18 I got it in 1983 on my birthday, the best present my mom ever got me..

that one picture with me with the SMB is in Nick's canoe I was always in the front seat when i was in yours.

I had a great time on that canoe, fishing and collecting tires.

I remember one cleanup it was filled up with tires and there was no room to sit in, but i still needed a ride back downstream.
I held onto the back, starboard side, as the trolling motor whizzed on the other side a few feet away as we rode over a deep hole on the south branch.

I learned a lot about SMBs and the raritan watershed on it, thankful for those floats
