Recommendations on building a surf rod.
I want to have a rod/rods built for the surf. Who do you recommend for building me one or two?

Re: Recommendations on building a surf rod.
For a surf rod, grumpys in seaside. That's their speciality. There's also Kevin Bogan and Greg Bogan too.

I checked with Bogans, and they only go up to 8' and its a two piece. I will definitely check with Grumpies.
Thank you! |

Betty and nicks does NOT build surf rods. He hardly has any stock of ready made rods.

Re: Recommendations on building a surf rod.
Grumpys. Bogan actually recommended me to them a few years back. See Bobby there. He's good and will spend an hour with you on selection, having you cast outside to measure there the reel seat will be assembled to the rod, the reel you are going to use which dictates where the first guide closest to the reel starts. His customer service is also awesome. I'm using an 9'6 ODM blank and outcast many folks with larger rods. That rod blank is awesome.
