Default LBI Vacation

I’ve been going to LBI ever since I was born, I used to even live there during the summers, but I’ve never really fished down there. I’m going down for a full week next week and wanted to get on some fish. I’m gonna try for fluke at the inlet, but I’m interested in catching anything and everything. Anyone have any tips for fishing down there?

This might be more suited for the saltwater section, but......The inlet is always a good place to start. It's been loaded with cocktail blues. The wall behind Andy's holds fluke all season as long as the boat traffic is down. Both party boats are fishing the same grounds for fluke right now. Then you got the surf at night for sharks. Bring your yak and you'll have more options.

I am kind of a noob with saltwater but did pretty well off my kayak this weekend a little south of LBI using white 4" gulp mullet on a 1/2 oz jighead. Mostly short fluke and sea bass but fun if your just looking to catch something.

This area is my new stomping grounds so here is a list of things to catch
1. Tog,sheeps and triggers of the rocks
2. Fluke in the surf basically at ur feet along with a few kingfish
3. Sharks mostly browns with rays in the mix also at night 2 hrs before high is best.. fresh bait is a must
4. Bass and blues under the bridges at night on peanuts.
5. Weakfish also at the bridges.. bite turned on last night on peanuts
.... when fishing the bridges the later the better

Thanks for all the tips everyone! I didn’t get too much time to fish this week, but I was able to catch some anyways!! Highlight of the trip was definitely a banded Rudderfish in the surf, caught maybe 10 feet from shore on a 1/8 ounce kastmaster. Some of the fish I caught pictured below! Nothing big, but definitely a confidence booster as far as saltwater fishing goes. Can’t wait to get back on some smallmouth bass and soon to be fall trout though!
