Sam,
Was it Fairfield Sporting Goods(aka Newark Sinker)?.
If so they have been around forever and were always the best outfitted and had old school guys in the store (back in the 80's).
Haven't been there since I left North jersey back in eary 90's
Mike

Fairfield tackle? They have been improving the shop too. More salt stuff and tackle making supplies.

Thumbs up Re: Tackle shop in Fairfield

Yup Newark sinker .my favorite tackle store. Given up on big box stores. This place is under new ownership and is pretty spruced up. Good tackle variety and prices.and they know what they're doing.helpful and won't try to sell you something you don't need. Worth the trip.

Fairfield Fishing Tackle / Newark Sinker is one of the few full service tackle shops left in North Jersey. If your in the market for a new combo they will set you up with a perfectly matched rod, reel and line for what ever species you are targeting. They also do rod and reel repairs.

Sam - went there 2 months ago for Gami-s for a blackfish trip . They have a nice selection of what you need , very helpful and around the corner from my work , nice in a pinch for me .

Been there several times as well.. great place for powder coat selections as well.. since they are so close to the Passaic River I wished they carried live bait- especially shiners.
