Check this out. Color changing jigs
Something new.... jigs change with water temp changes. Also used on poppers too. During the right times of the season, the poppers look incredible as they change with every drop of water that hits them. ( cooler air / warmer water and again in spring with cooler water / warmer air )
What are your thoughts?? For tuna and other species that your working the entire water column.... they are awesome. For bottom fishing, they still benefit from the changes in temps down below. Especially around structure where the temps vary with the currents. Times are changing and some of the stuff today is really getting crazy! http://youtu.be/fyS6is_X-v0 Last edited by JerseyCoast; 09-10-2014 at 06:00 PM.. |

Re: Check this out. Color changing jigs
They look awesome to me, but I'm not a fish. What is the idea behind this? Colder gets darker or lighter, or can you choose? How much of a temperature change is needed to change color?

Quote:
Almost all fish change colors when under stress, as well as breeding purposes. chromatophores and iridiophores are what cause the color changes in live fish. Poppers are really wild..... they change from the air temps and everytime water splashes on them! Its crazy to watch! |
