Eagle Lake--Acadia National Park
Heading up to Acadia with the family for a week's worth of hiking, kayaking and fishing. Will be fishing in some of the Acadia lakes and looks like they have land locked salmon and bunch of trout including lakers. Any advice on what me and my boys can use from a kayak??
Been slacking on the honey hole posts, but will gt one up tonight. Thanks for any help.

Re: Eagle Lake--Acadia National Park
Sorry can't help you on the fishing but that is one beautiful place if you've never been before. Lobster Rolls galore and they are tasty.
Try to stop into Atlantic Brewing for some good beers and great BBQ. They have a Mainly BBQ on sight at their Town Hill Location 15 Knox Rd Bar Harbor, ME 04609. Google maps does not accurately find this location so look it up before you go. That is common up there from my experience so be careful when following the GPS for directions. Have a great trip and good luck with the fishing.

Re: Eagle Lake--Acadia National Park
Like 8 years ago we went there and I took my s canoe. I can’t remember the name of the lake but it was beautiful and pretty small. I trolled Rapalas and caught a bunch of trout and a beautiful smaller. It was a small lake all rocks and only like 3 houses on it.

Re: Eagle Lake--Acadia National Park
my gf lived on Mount Desert Island and I enjoyed hiking/fishing/exploring the island. I haven’t targeted salmon but used my usual trout stuff. Definitely mind the signage & private property. Also lots of the fresh water ponds/lake provide drinking water so you can’t wade or swim (but strangely ok to put your boat in though).
Apart from Eagle check out Jordan Pond, Hadlock & Long Pond. My gf said folks also head off island up towards Ellsworth and lots of water up that way. have a blast and good luck! |
