Default Early launching

OK, a bit premature I know but I’m itching to get out. Where can I launch the boat on the ‘Cong when ice is out? I understand Lee’s isn’t necessarily open right away. Is the State Park my best option?

State Park will be the only real option but that ramp might be tough with a boat of your size.

Flash marina will have the launch open put parking is a nightmare until they start putting the boats in the water.

Lees doesn't usually open until late march/early april

Not sure about Johnny's Marina in Hopatcong

You might want to hit up one of the deep water reservoirs

State park should do the trick, though I’d call before you go once the ice goes away. I tried launching there just prior to the freeze-up and the ramp was still closed following the 5 year drawdown. Levels looked fine so I was going to try it anyway but decided against it since that area is patrolled heavily.

Well that kinda sucks. I have only fished the ‘cong in the boat so far and was going to try out some new places this year but was hoping to start on familiar waters. Have to cross my fingers or come up with a plan B. Thanks for the replies guys.

Thanks

Steve
