Default Lake trout beatdowns

you didn't think i was going to stop after that 31 incher did you? Eddie said there might be one or two more 35 inchers left in NJ so i have to find them! haha

Saturday afternoon the weatherman (for once) was right and the wind dropped to almost nothing so squatch and I headed out to jig some lake trout. Started hitting them right away here and there, but they really started biting fantastically for about an hour before the dark clouds really moved in and then it pretty much died almost completely and we couldn't get a bite on anything, but we did our damage already by then for sure!

Most of the fish were really nice size and hefty and full of piss and vinegar to boot! Some of them had the power of at least 7-8 wet towels! haha seriously no clue how these fish got a reputation in NJ for not fighting...they're just as strong as most other similar sized fish and a high 20s inch laker fights a hell of a lot stronger than a high 30s inch muskie haha

first pic is left over from the other day, the rest are from saturday:

Forgot about this forum for a few years, what a cool post to come back to! I'm coming home to NJ from college in a few days and will be buying myself a kayak shortly after. If this is where I think it is, hopefully I'll get into some too!

Anyway, sweet catches and great photos!

They are nice when they’re that big! They just seem a little different on the other pond. It’s weird! Your on the meat brother. A true 31+++++ is waiting for you in the depths! It still lives! Trust me! I’ve seen pics!!! The serpent is alive and well!!!

Its s piece of cake in a kayak! I think they are about the easiest most predictable fish to catch.
