Default Hudson River Fishing Boat

I'm wondering if anyone has thoughts on appropriate boat size for striped fishing on the Hudson River? Would a bass boat work or is alarmed salt water boat needed?

If you are fishing the upper part of the Hudson like around Bear Mountain and north, a bass boat should be fine. If fishing the lower Hudson in the NYC area you need something bigger... Lots of boat traffic and wakes there and it can get pretty rough.

The strong curents, tour boats, commercial boats and water taxis make for some very tricky conditions in the lower Hudson especially around Governor's Island and the Statue of Liberty. A bass boat would definately be a bad choice for this area.
