Default Sanctuary state?

With all these cities and states being sanctuaries for illegal aliens and not helping the federal government enforce immigration law I was wondering why NJ can't be a sanctuary state for fishermen? Since the NJDEP is in charge of fish and game and NJDEP is against these ridiculous proposed regulations why not simply have our own? We don't fish federal waters for fluke except real late September so why not? Just a thought that popped into my head.

I thought of that also. In fact I have stated in other posts that NJ should tell the feds to pound salt and not have our law enforcement enforce the feds limit. But I guess we could not stop the Coast Guard or other fed agencies from doing it...Charlie

How about we all say screw the regulations and if we want to bring home dinner do it.

Why was this moved to non-fishing when everything else on the subject is on the main board/

I have to agree with bigal. I throw back 95% of what I catch. But If what a fluke or sea bass for dinner on a particular day. I will keep fish. I am not stocking my freezer with undersized fish. Same goes for tuna. If I spend $400.00 on fuel, ice, and tackle. I don't care about regs. Regulations are aimed at taking our rights away and look after ONLY commercial interest.
