Default Raritan River Float

Floated with The Nick Mastah' launching from robert street to Duke's parkway in manville. A much shorter float than the typical Robert street to Riverside park float (4 miles vs 10 miles)

This gave us more time to anchor up or wade some spots. This produced some more fish, but oddly enough the best fish of the day were caught just drifting through.

I was successful with a 1/8 oz jig with a zoom speedworm, missed some smaller fish that only got half the worm in the mouth but the big'uns took it down full. Nick managed the best smb of the day on a glide bait.

Spotted some big ass fish like carp and a musky, third time I saw one in a stretch in particular.
Also spotted two very large SMB, both follows.

This LMB had some cool dark spots.

This night hit upper NB. I swear I caught this LMB before. Same stretch. Also caught a decent smb.

Those are some serious bass! Ones like that usually come unbuttoned and all I ever land are the river dinks.

Nice report & great pics to match! Even that 1st Larry looks chunky! Was wondering if you caught that bass in more stagnant type of water as opposed to free flowing? Have caught bass in the past with similar spots and upon inquiring here, found that it's a condition called melanosis. Have seen some bigguns with this so not too sure if it effects their well being all that much.

With most of my lmb catches on the raritan, it's usually in a spot that's slow-moving. This one was in a dark, slow, hole under a tree, in a stretch that was pretty slow to begin with too. The only spot I catch them in fast water is by either of the dams.

It's also one of the few bass ive seen in the raritan with the dark spots/melanosis.
