Default Last weekend hybrid and shad

Hit a cove at the big pond at night for a few hours. Was pretty dead for a while and then some fish moved in and were splashing around. Didn’t hear any herring activity. Finally got one to bite a stick bait....it was a 22 inch hybrid

Followed that up with an outing on the Delaware for shad. The bite has been terrible this year, it took way too long for the river to come up past 50 degrees consistently this year. That being said, I got 7 fish in a few hours in the Water Gap area last weekend. Great morning but unfortunately the run is coming to an end in our area. But the wildlife is out in force. Saw three bald eagles, some deer, a beaver...and the highlight was watching two adolescent bears swim all the way across the river just upstream from me. Amazing what you can see in a few hours of fishing in our great state.

nice hybrid they should pick up soon the herring have to start dancing soon the nite bite can be intense when the fish start smacking the water all around you and i used to go to the wall pack bend on the big d for the shad i have not done that in many years now. what did you get the shad on, a dart or flutter spoon?

I was fishing a double dart rig where I tie a very small dart to the shank of a larger quarter ounce dart...literally every fish I caught was on the small dart In the middle of a fast water riffle. Earlier in the season they are on the seams but lower water/higher temps I do way better in the fast stuff. I got a few on a flutter spoon Behind a quarter ounce keel weight a few weeks ago around Easton.
