Default Your List

After crossing LL Salmon off my list of NJ fish to catch, I was wondering what NJ freshwater fish are on everyone's list of fish that they have never caught before?

For me its
Musky
Tiger Musky
Lake Trout (I've caught them in Lake George, but never in NJ waters)

Ive need to cross off a ton. #1 would be a brook trout.

The only time Ive gotten bitten off was from a musky, just guessing since another angler had lost a musky in the same spot some moments ago from where I was. That'll have to make it #2.

The list goes on, LL, laker, hybdrid, flathead, and bowfin.

If your serious about crossing Musky and Tiger Musky off your list there’s no time like the present! Oxford Furnace Lake has a large population of both species in it! Mountain Lake doesn’t have any Tiger Musky’s in it but it does have a decent amount of Musky’s in it and I’ve also caught 4 or 5 Spotted Musky’s there over the last couple years! The Musky fishing has been pretty good for me over the past 3 weeks I’ve managed to land 5 but have also lost probably a half dozen more! 4 of them were small between 36-38 inches but at least one was a nice fat 47 incher that weighed just shy of 22lbs! Haven’t landed a Tiger yet this year but hopefully tonight’s mission solves that issue! My suggestion to you would be get out there soon before the water temperature gets to high!

Never hooked one in the Raritan but I have caught a few in the 'D' over the years. All were juveniles with the biggest only going about 4 feet.
