Default High Water Weekend

Went to the raritan river during some high water. Really the milestone was running the highest so fishing above the confluence wasnt that flooded, but still 3 feet above normal flow.

Tried a few new spots I never hit before during high flow conditions, and only caught a dink smb that attempted to down a 4.5 inch swimbait.

Eventually I end up where I normally go. lay down a chartreuse fat albert, and once I just let it still for a bit, flapping in the water current, I get a vicious take and im onto my PB striper.

Then yesterday hit lamington for some smallmouths. Best lure was pb&j zman tubes that Andy gave me. Thanks! Caught a few smallmouth over the 12 in range and plenty more dinks.

Also crazy looking tree fall that must have happened from the last high water event. Never saw this tree down before + plants still alive on it.

i've seen totally live trees on the edge of a river fall like that and re root itself and start to get itself vertical again...it takes months, but it's pretty cool. keep and eye on it!

I was coming home today (10/1) and as I passed over the N Branch on Rt. 22 a huge Bald eagle flew over heading up river ! Congrats on the PB SB. I thought you would get more use out of those bass lures than me

I'm hoping it moves a bit more downstream where it slows down and becomes a good structure spot for the fish
