Thumbs up Raritan river guide trip 4/28/18:

Yes, I had someone take ME out on the Raritan river !
Launched out of Sayerville and went all the way up the Raritan river to landing Lane bridge in a 20 ft. boat with a 150 on the Back !
Striped bass being as fickle as they are today was no exception. We had some fish and marked many on the recorder. Under utilized water in the "urban oasis" with no shortage of launch sites such as Boyd Park, Donaldson Park and Edison Boat Basin. A tin boat, kayak haven.
Pressed down all the barbs, 100% C&R and fly rods on board if it got hot and heavy, we were far from the slaughter house taking place on the bay.
Do your homework, watch the tides and explore your world !

Now that's interesting. I always wondered about launching from those points. It's a big river out that way for sure. Cool report capt.

Sweet. I wonder how big some of those stripers can be down there

Tell them to get their fins moving upstream

Looks like fun!! How strong is the current in that area? Would electric only be powerful enough?

The current really wasn't that strong at all. A beefy electric motor would work. We fished near the Lawrence Brook outlet also.

I have seen Bluefish caught at that launch in Edison. Just a few weeks away. Not just 3 or 4 pounders either. Try that in a small tin boat or a kayak.

Good stuff man. Nice seeing what’s up the river just north of where I launch.

Gotta keep that Edison ramp quiet tho....hate crowds when I’m on lunch.

Thumbs up Re: Raritan river guide trip 4/28/18:

There’s going to be a lot going more going on down there when the massive schools of bait show up. I got reports from friends doing very well plugging Stripers at night down hat way. Gotta love the big rivers!
