I threw my entire arsenal of lures and jigs for about 1/2 mile stretch or more of that section of the river. Bounced those deep holes to no end and tossed rat-l-traps, rapalas, husky jerks, jointed minnows, swim baits, etc... you name it, i threw it. Not a single tap whatsoever. What do you use that produces there that I may not have thrown? I didnt soak any bait... all artificial for me...

Any insight would be hugely appreciated! Thanks!

You said it...bait. This area may fish better on artificials in the spring or fall

crawlers? shiners? crawfish? what do you suggest? Found a few mudbugs as I was flipping rocks but nothing very big...

All of the above,mix it up.Try a sunny or shiner on 1 rod worms on another and toss those crays unweighted and let them drift.

Some of the fish I saw busting the surface were gigantic.

Thanks for the tips guys... Once I head back in that area I'll be sure to report back. Hittin' the salt this weekend out in Montauk!

Received a report from an angler, who on that same night, while fishing for channel cats @ Stockton, NJ, caught an A. eel.,........he live lined it & caught a 20 lb. flathead.

Supposed email me photos next week.

This flathead was caught about a mile North of "the Rock". Caught on live trout!
