Default Better ones from the last three days in the sauna.

Wed. 10 to 2, 11 to 3 and today 8 to 2, most were caught after 12 and it was HOT each day except for yesterday, it was bearable because of a nice breeze. Today was dead calm pretty much all day (pic) caught 6 SM 14" to 18" and a dozen or so dinks, only 2 LM 14" & 18" and a couple of dinks, sunnies, a YP and a pickerel. When starting out today the water temp was 76 and was hovering at 83 at noon.

Nice fish! Better that your wife is out with you and actually catching fish, not many guys can say that. Enjoy!

Sometimes you may not want to follow the crowd, be a contrarian and maybe think outside the box. We tend to be creatures of habit, I know I am, for example I usually will fish the same route on a body of water, taking into account wind direction and seasonal considerations. Lure type, retrieve and depth, don't be afraid to mix it up, nothing is cast in concrete even though some say it is. If your fishing a certain way and it's not working try something outside your comfort zone, you may come up with a method to try another day and you build confidence for the next time. An example is I slow down when going from one place to another and going over deep water. Yes, it takes me longer to get there but I'll make note of bait, suspended fish and will work a bait at the same time. Last week I picked up two 15" SM in 30 fow and my better half had a 20 to 22" LM in 30 fow that jumper about 20' from the boat but came off, believe me I got a good look at it and it was a good fish. Give it some thought and the next time they aren't biting find where they are. Good luck.
