Talking 2020 Trout Opener!

We pulled it off with basically nobody! Lol! I made the fire in the normal spot. Some guys showed up to fish and have some laughs. We all somehow stayed separated and had a good time. We searched for fish but they were elusive. We all went our separate ways at 11 am. I found my fish to play with on the Musky and nobody was on them. It was so weird! I thought I was in a bad scene from Armageddon. Like really! Nobody within a mile or so of me and no signs that there was life out there in the early AM. It is what it is, more fish for me. They wanted the spinners and jigs on the river as there was a seemingly endless amount of Bows in this stretch. Some holdovers, some recent stockies. It was some really awesome catching til about 1:30 in the afternoon. 2.5 hours and I was near nobody! Lol! Last stop was the Passaic River close to home. Some guys here and there but if I saw humans they were quickly in and out of the spots. Got some good fish out of a hole in Chatham. They were stacked up there as well. If you have time guys, go get yours. Being out there for a few hours definitely helps cure the COVID blues. Cheers to another successful Trout opener! We do this for Frankie V., friend, brother, son and fellow fisherman! Im sure he was looking down keeping us all safe and separated during this crisis.

Thumbs up Re: 2020 Trout Opener!

Glad it worked out as best it could. The one fish looks like a fall holdover. Hang onto your hats - !! Monday -- Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 73. Breezy, with a south wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
