Default Looking for info on a boat damaged in Atlantic Highlands

Guys,
I am looking for some info on a boat that was damaged in Sandy. The boat was auctioned, it is said to have taken on water during the storm. I know the guys who purchased it and are restoring it. It is a boat I have always liked, and I have the chance to purchase it, along with the headaches I am certain that will come along with it.

The boat is from The Highlands, its a 30' Pursuit / 3000 Offshore the name on ti was BOOMER.

If anyone has any info, please contact me or post it here. Im curious how much of it was under water, what exactly it was totaled for, etc..... ???

Thanks.

Get it surveyed

It will cost a few hundred bucks but it will tell you everything you want to know

No limit......no doubt I am paying for the survey. A friend is the one who purchased it and is restoring it. But,,,, still..... I want to find as much info as possible.

Clam Strings,
you pretty much answered my questions regarding the range and how she handles it. Thank you! I have an older Pursuit CC now, love it! Just something about them that keeps me coming back.

Thanks again guys. We will see how this plays out... I am hoping all is well, as I can see some bft coming through the transom door!

Love love love the layout of the helm area and the lines of this particular Pursuit model. I was considering a few of them while I was looking. Only digs I've heard was the lack of windshield so no windshield wiper and since its so beamy for a boat it's size it tends to pound a bit. Probably one of the biggest and coolest 30 foot boats out there with some really nice space and accomodations for cruising/overnighting.

What sorts of power does she have??

Hi. I was the owner of this boat when it sunk during Sandy. It was fully submerged for a month. The water was up to the bottom of the hard top. While it was a great boat before this event, I would think that everything has to be replaced in it except the hull. Possibly the props and the shafts made it if they didn't bend while the boat was sitting on the bottom. I can send you lots of photos of the boat before, during and after the sinking if interested.

Sorry for your loss Boomer. Hopefully the insurance company took care of you.

Tom - if this boat was totally under water everything will need to be replaced to include the elecrtical systems. Even if it was free, the cost for replacing everything makes it economically unfeasable since you would never get the money back that you put in. Even if you could provide all your own labor it's likely to be a loosing financial proposition, not that any boat is a winning proposition .

Boomer......thank you! Thank you for the phone call yesterday too. Your a good man. Yes I was looking to purchase this boat. Its one of my favorite boats and it seemed too good to be true. Lol. I expected damage but did not exoect to hear it was under that long. Its a beautiful layout and it makes it that much harder to walkaway..... but it sounds like there will be issues down the road. I know its pretty much been brought back to the point hwere its running now but it has to be a lil heavier than when it left the factory I would think. ???? Hull has to be filled with water still....no?

Thanks again Boomer and everyone else. You saved me a big headache!!!
