Default outboard motor ?

laid my 9.9 down on the wrong side and oiil spilled out. Do I just refill it or did that gum up something that I now have to clean before restarting? Thanks

I'm assuming it's a four stroke. Oil probably just run out the breather. Make sure it's full and you should be ok.

Did it come out of the filler neck?

There are only two exits from a crankcase. As pointed out- the breather and the filler/guage opening.

Gravity will cure your error just as it created your mess.

You should be fine. Let sit vertical to drain back in to bottom of the crankcase to make sure you don't overfill.
