Winter Clamming
Renewed my shellfish license and decided to head out for some clams yesterday. Conditions weren't ideal but headed out anyway. Was able to get a small haul of clams but had to cut my trip short due to a leak in my waders. Held out as long as i could in 47 degree water, lol. Still, was good to get out in the fresh air with some friends. Came home and made some homemade New England Clam Chowder cooked by my daughter and I. Got my new waders and some waders for my 11 year old daughter who also loves clamming. Cant wait to get back out there.

Re: Winter Clamming
I haven't gone in about 10 years but I just picked up my 2021 permit so I am ready to get back out there!
I know the season is open year long, but do you find any time of year better? |

Re: Winter Clamming
This was my first time going in winter. But early spring and summer are prime time. From April till August any time we've gone out we always did really well

Re: Winter Clamming
Best time of year, many "seasonal" areas open up.
And no Green Heads !!!!
