Don't want to steal your thread with a FYI, that was a nasty hook in the finger and fortunately you had the tool(s) to handle the situation. What I would like to point out the importance of having big enough cutters or pliers to either crush the barb or cut it off as you did. A few years ago, my better half had a SM send an Owner 3/0 flying and through her finger like you did, I cut off the barb, pulled it out and she was back to fishing. Be prepared and have the right tool(s) for the job, you never know when you will need them. Thanks and hope the finger heals quickly.

OMG EDDIE see what happens when you do not have time to fish you pull a googan move by letting a slime dart get you off your balance and getting a hook through your finger that looks like it hurt glad to see you redeemed yourself and got some nice fish anyway. that's the way to get back in the game brother. nice wipers and toohty pets congrats

You...retired? NEVER! It's called giving the fish a break!

Great work on the multispecies action. Quality fish of all species!

First off-ouch. Now did anyone notice the chain pattern on that first pike? Hybrid with a pickerel? Good to see you back sticking fish and yourself.

Thumbs up Re: Retired from fishing.....!?!?!?!

When I see a hook in the hand like that I think of going barbless, that is what is recommended for kayak anglers and here is why. Imaging a 10 pound bluefish on one treble and the other treble through your finger, now try to paddle back to shore to get help.
You retire, HA ! Peaks and valleys.
